The Best Coffee Recipe You've NEVER Tried: Rosemary Coffee
It's simple, really. You literally just throw a sprig or two depending on the size in with your coffee grinds in with your ground coffee. I brew with a French Press but you can also do this with a pour over, a regular keurig if you use the reusable k-cups, and even old school canteen like coffee brewers. If you're using a french press it's pretty easy, just throw the sprigs in there and since it's an immersion brew meaning everything is fully submerged for a few minutes, you'll steep a bunch of oils and flavor from the rosemary during that time. If you're doing a type of brew where the water just passes through the coffee for a brief moment, say like a pour over or something like that, it may help to chop the rosemary up a bit before doing so to extract more of the flavors since it's not being steeped or submerged.
A follower of mine on Insta said he literally just threw the rosemary leaves into his coffee GRINDER with the beans and then went about his normal brew using a pour over. He reported back with a delicious experience.
Now how I personally brew my coffee is I use 30-35g of whole coffee beans, as the filtered water comes to a boil I grind my beans down right before I brew for maximum freshness and flavor, I use roughly 750-800ml of water for that much bean I slowly pour the water over the grinds along with a sprig of rosemary in there. I let that steep for FOUR MINUTES without touching it. I then break the crust, give it a swirl....and then.... I let it sit there for another 8-10 minutes before serving myself a cup. Yup. That's a 8-12 minute french press brew and it's the best tasting cup of black coffee I've ever had. You're welcome.
