ECM has done something it never has before
I tested out the new Estetika coffee machine and this is what I thought.
I've always loved ECM and the quality of their builds, that goes without question. They are a premium product but an extra premium price. They have built a reputation on their long lasting high performing coffee machines (let's be honest, with a name like Espresso Coffee Machines they can't build around their brand name!)
But they've gone a different direction with their Estetika coffee machine and I'm not convinced about it.
Maybe it's because they have seemingly homogenised with their other brand Profitec who made the departure from e61 group heads a few years ago. Or maybe it's because they named it "Aesthetic" and is it? Really?
For me this machine is hard to classify if I am fully on board with it or not. Yes, its modern looking and has some of the modern tech, but you lose the steampunk look and replace it with a poorpunk look and then charge a mozza for it. Also, you lose the mechanical preinfusion and don't replace it with a better preinfusion.
Anyway, I'd love to hear your thoughts on whether you think this is a machine for you or not. Please let me know in the comments.
As Always, Enjoy your brew!

About me:
I am super passionate about coffee and educating people on all aspects of this amazing drink. I love bringing the stories back from the other side of the world about how they grow and process the coffee differently on each farm, in each region, and in each country. I also love helping baristas around the world make better coffee for themselves, whether they're at home, professional, competitors or even just venturing out into the wide world of coffee.
