Hamilton Beach Homebaker 29881Z bread making machine breadpan experimental fix. This inexpensive machine is great but the breadpan has a fatal flaw (or a programmed fail) where the agitator axle’s retainer gets toasted and disintegrates and then the pan and the machine become unusable. I have two such machines, and now three breadpans. The machine costs about $65. Called up Hamilton Beach and they said no way to fix the retainer problem. Their solution is for you to buy a new bread pan for $30 plus tax and shipping. (www.hamiltonbeach.com/nonstick-bread-pan-29881-990109700) This video shows how Hamilton Beach can take responsibility and fix this problem, and how you may be able to make a viable repair yourself, instead of having to buy a new bread pan. Disclaimer: If you try the repair, it’s at your own risk. Any modifications you make to your machine, and any consequences thereof, are your responsibility.
