We will start by saying that overall, this is one of the best hand grinders for espresso that we have tested so far 💯
.
🔹️It is super easy to grip and to grind with. The handle holder piece assists you as fingers stopper to prevent slipping. The upgraded longer handle requires slightly less grinding force, especially when it comes to light roasted coffee beans.
🔹️The ground catcher cup has been upgraded to a threaded one, which is more practical to use.
🔹️It takes 1:10 to 1:25 minutes to grind 18g for espresso. It is not fast, but considering the required force for grinding, it is in the sweet spot.
🔹️It has stepless grind adjustments mechanism that will allow you to get an extraction difference ranging from 1 to 4.5 seconds. This is more than enough to get your desired extraction time.
🔹️The alignment of the burrs is extremly accurate. It is on par with the Kinu M47, which is famous for its perfect alignment.
🔹️It comes with a few accessories including different coloured bands, cleaning brush, spare rubber gaskets for the central axle, and a cloth travel bag.
🔹️It is well built and durable, it can withstand any accidental falls. It is built to last.
🔹️Tastewise:

It uses Italmill 47mm conical burrs which are famous for their great results in espresso if aligned correctly. It will give you delicous espressos shots with strong body and creamy texture. Although it is not famous for its clarity, you will get enjoyable tasting notes regardless of the roasting level 👌

🔸️We wished if the new handle holder was made of Walnut, which would fit the luxurious style of the grinder. That being said, the team at MadeByKnock mentioned that they have plans for that in the future, but they are trying to keep the price within a reasonable approach.

Overall, we can not think of any disadvantages at the moment. The new Feld47 is a wonderful grinder and we are extremely confident in recommending it as an espresso focused hand grinder.
