In this video, we look at the iconic Bialetti Moka Pot. We explore 3 tips to making a better coffee with the Mokapot, including using pre-heated filtered water, dosing using the basket itself, and grinding your freshly roasted beans yourself. It’s also important to use a gentle heat to not overheat the water, which could lead to bitter coffee. Feathering the heat seems to work well in making a more balanced cup.
I am using the 6 cup edition, but instructions should be the same for all sizes.
This is the original portable coffee maker, and ubiquitous in Italy. Take it with you on a camping trip, or just use it on a stovetop.
