The **Breville Barista Express has been one of the default recommendations for beginner home baristas for more than a decade**. But the Gemilai Ele G3028A is coming in at essentially the same sticker price with a 58mm group, dedicated brew boiler, dual PID, adjustable OPV, programmable pre-infusion, powerful steaming and automatic milk temperature control.

So… should you still buy the Breville?

I put the **Breville Barista Express vs Gemilai Ele G3028A** side by side to find out which one actually makes more sense as your first serious espresso machine — and which one gives you more room to grow.

The answer isn’t as simple as picking the machine with the most features.

The Breville includes its own grinder, heats quickly, has an easier workflow and is incredibly forgiving when you’re learning. The Gemilai requires a separate espresso grinder and asks more from you on day one, but gives you hardware and control normally associated with much more expensive machines.
