Seattle Coffee Gear says:

Ummm…not really positive that they will ‘rot’ in the few hours that
you’ll have them in the grinder, but if you’re concerned about it then this
is not the model for you 🙂 – Kat

Sewcoolwash says:

Miss Bunny your acomplice would 😀

Seattle Coffee Gear says:

Yeah it does – well, in that you put in how much you want to come out, so
you can adjust the volume that way – kat

Seattle Coffee Gear says:

🙁 I’m sorry – Kat

SoftSoxx says:

I presently own the YouBrew glass and the only way you can adjust your brew
amount is by first measuring the amount you want per brew cycle. That’s why
I’m returning it for the thermal model where I can adjust the carafe
quantity regardless whether the tank is half full or completely full. Not
sure why they can’t design the glass carafe model the same way, otherwise
I’d of kept it. BTW, it produces excellent coffee!

I think as a Christmas gift to all of us Kat should grace us with her sassy
self on her Xmas gift guide video-!!!

Hahaha … Kat

MrAlligam says:

AirScape — check Travel Mugs — check Old coffee maker with grinder —
good enough — don’t use it much

SoftSoxx says:

Nice quick review other than this model does NOT have an adjustable
quantity level for the glass carafe… only the thermal carafe model has
this capability.

Torbjørn Jørgensen says:

Do you really want to add beans (and let them rot) so long before you gonna
use them? 😐

Paul Eagles says:

I’d like to get a You Brew but Breville don’t sell them in the UK. Boo 🙁

Paul Eagles says:

Thanks for the tip!

SoftSoxx says:

Just received the thermal YouBrew and learned that you can actually use the
glass carafe with it if you don’t like your coffee in contact with
stainless. Just make sure to center it directly under the coffee basket’s
pause & serve valve. Works great! Of course there’s no carafe heater on the
thermal model to keep coffee hot, but I only make enough for immediate
consumption. Anything left sitting around for more than several minutes
becomes stale very quickly IMO 🙂

I guess you’ll just have to buy one from Kat. Maybe she’ll autograph it,
too.

Does Bunny come with this Christmas package?

Seattle Coffee Gear says:

Who will hold the camera then?!?!?!? 😉 – Kat

YOU BREW

SoftSoxx says:

Or if they are that fanatical about this issue, they could always remove
the bean hopper and dump it back into a sealed container. But to be frank,
the YouBrew does an excellent job of sealing out air from the hopper, so
why the worries? The beans will stay fresh for several days as long as you
keep the lid on tightly 🙂 Seem like someone is always looking for faults
with anything they see. This machine has very few faults compared to most
grind & brew makers. Actually I love the way it works!

Seattle Coffee Gear says:

Yeah, you can just do a less amount in the fill; it reads it out as you’re
feeling the tank so not too difficult to do it. If you’re switching to
thermal, note that you’ll need to pre-heat that guy before you start your
grind and brew. – Kat

Seattle Coffee Gear says:

Sounds great! – Kat

Mike Smith says:

Go to gastroback (dot) de. It goes under the name “Design Coffee Advanced –
Grind & Brew” in Europe for some reason. You may be able to find a retailer
in UK.

Seattle Coffee Gear says:

Agreed – but, ultimately, that’s why there’s no ‘perfect’ machine and why
we talk about pros and cons to each of them. Something I might love you
might see as a drawback, so it’s really more about knowing what you’re
getting when you’re going in 🙂 – Kat
