Best french press: Bodum Brazil vs Columbia coffee maker comparison
Looking for the best french possible? You're probably going to wind up with something from Bodum. Bodum's most expensive French press vs its least expensive model: the all-metal, insulated Columbia (http://amzn.to/1XOfM0W) vs the Brazil (http://amzn.to/1XOfDL1).
The 1 liter Columbia is $62 and the 0.5 liter is $42. The 1 liter Brazil is $18 and there is no 0.5 liter model available.
Both are really nice, but the Columbia is insulated and has all-metal construction. I've had the Columbia since 2007 and it's been great, but I wanted something larger. These days I make coffee in the morning and pour it in my thermos (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tSxNdADyuBk) so I don't need an insulated french press or anything particularly fancy. With that in mind the Brazil was the right choice.
