BUNN BTX B Dissection for Thermo fuse

Share it with your friends Like

This video shows the dissection of a personal BUNN, model BTX-B coffee maker to gain access to the two thermo-fuses in series. I found that one of the two fuses was in an open state, allowing no current to go through, and as a result would not heat the water. This is the most common problem I have seen. 2 out of 2 was the fuse.

I do not represent BUNN in anyway. I am a private user with electric and mechanical engineering experience. If you are unfamiliar with this product or do not feel comfortable, I strongly recommend contacting BUNN directly. They are very good at helping customers and may even replace your maker with no charge to you.

I like this unit because it is a good mid range coffee maker that is simplistic in design, few part to break down, and it is one of the few to advertise a temperature of 200F. Also there is not a lot of waste like the K-cups. I have owned may makers, including K-cup makers, but this one is by far the best for the price.

If you know what you are looking for you can get a new fuse on digi-key for under a buck, if not please contact BUNN directly with your model number and date code located on the bottom of the unit.
