A much more practical method would be to leave this overpriced pile of crap
in its provided garbage can and simply make the coffee with the Aeropress.
That coffee grinder is so rude I could hardly hear them:(
Blue Shirt seems more psyched on the ROK than the other dude. This review
dissuaded me from buying the ROK. Maybe in the future as a spending spree
considering all of the other recommended add-ons.
Okay guys I am really confused now: one of you likes this machine a lot
and the other clearly thinks it is a piece of crap.
So why the review?
coffee people truly are insufferable
That was a great review. You convinced me not to buy the machine, but
that’s part of putting out an honest review. Thanks guys!
ur super amators! LOL
You guys used a balance to weigh your shot, what value were you looking
for? It was not shared on the video.
I cannot tell how much guy on the right irritated me. You kept comparing
it with really expensive machine and missed the point of the manual
machine. It is done for those that cannot afford a full price one, and you
simply forgot to evaluate the quality of the shot. I agree with @simontcm
Poor review: exasperatingly punctilious without being creative or
productive. Here, these guys have made one of life’s simple pleasures into
a neurosis, which is a pity
Nice review. WE are looking at this device for taking on camping trips.
thanks man. have fun with the machine!
You’re right. We just got a new MIC set up to improve our sound for future
vids. -David
SO YOU PRE HEAT THE CUP AND NOT THE MACHINE WHY NOT JUST DO A CLEAN RUN
WITH NO COFFEE IN THE PORTA FILTER HEAT THE MACHINE AND THE CUP WITH THE
SAME WATER THEN PULL YOUR SHOT
How much does this thing go for?
Thanks for watching the video and writing some feedback! We really like
coffee and it’s fun for us to analyze all the nuances involved. To us
coffee is a big deal and we want to put as much out there and let you
decide what is useful and what’s not. Depends on your own style.
200 dollar rip off go buy a stove top
Yea, you can totally do that. We just didn’t for this video. Plastic and
silicon aren’t going to hold heat too well, so I think the best thing you
can do is actually just soak the portafilter on hot water. I don’t think
any normal user of the product will go through those lengths though. -David
I don’t evaluate the quality of the shot because it’s subjective and will
change all the time. It’s impossible to pull the exact same shot back to
back with this machine. I’ve found it much more useful to evaluate the
process of creating the shot. During my process of pulling the shot I’ve
tried to emulate as best as possible how the best baristas in the world are
trained to pull an espresso but transferred to the ROK. You don’t have to
use my process though.
I like the aeropress especially for its portability.
great job guys wanting pne of these for fun and purity/simplicity
Would you guys consider this to be better than the aeropress? I have the
aeropress and I think its the best minimalist coffee maker.
IS THAT A RE BRANDED BREVIL GRINDER?
Haters gunna hate. I, for one, thought it was a good overview of the
machine.
Poor review: exasperatingly punctilious without being creative or
productive. The real espresso, as any Italian will tell you, is no big
deal. You’ve either got it, or you don’t. Here, these guys have made one of
life’s simple pleasures into a neurosis, which is a pity.
Great vid but so noisy :/
the guy in the white shirt was nervous
high as fooook
WEIGH OUT THE SHOTS BUT DONT DO ANY PRE HEATING BOTH OF USE SHOULD NOT BE
REVIEWING COFFEE MACHINES
Thanks for the review guys, but overall a bit of a sloppy job in my
opinion. Why did you not experiment with preheating the machine before this
review, if you are taking the time to edit and post it and give your
opinion? It would have been nice for me to see your opinion on a “best
case” method, which might include preheating the machine, using a metal
tamper, etc…
