Hi there, I just got one of these machines as well. When I activate the
steam button to heat the water for steaming it seems to keep dripping from
the espresso portion. Does yours do that too or is there a trick?
What kind of espresso bean do you use?
What a long drawn out ware of time. If I had to wait seven minutes for you
to make me a shot of espresso, I’d be walking out of the door. Get on with
it. If you knew what you were doing you would know how much coffee to put
in the portafilter and all that tamping bull*+t turning it…..? Rubbish!
I can get the same results if not better in less less than a minute.
I love that grinder! I am thinking of getting a used one at a local
auction.
@fanshabia I understand what you talking about. But the fact is this is a
$49 slow heating espresso machine with heating block not the boiler, what
can you expect for? It’s good if you have a good machine and can get the
heat water from cold within a minute for you. Also I am a scientist, I used
to quantify everything. Timing, temperature, volume and weight are very
basic. Anyway, I already upgraded my machine to rancilio silvia v3. It’s
more better than this one. Let’s enjoy the espresso.
I have had the same machine for two months now, and i was only able to get
crema once. I’m very disappointed with my machine and I think im going to
have to replace it as now it makes no crema at all. I have experience with
all types of machines and I have never had any problems with other
machines. I followed you video to the note and was only able to get a tiny
amount of crema. I have also tried different Lavazza coffees with no
result. Any suggestions before I go and but a new machine?
@carbomd could you please tell me where you got this for $49? for the time
being im planning on getting it from walmart for $69
Does the La Pavoni grind good enough for the rancilio silvia v3? I’m
thinking about upgrading soon.
I understand that my measure and tamping take time. But I just want make
sure I extract the espresso flow out in better quality not too fast also
not too slow. Extract too slow or too fast have different taste. You can
try it.
I’m sorry, but I’ve never seen anyone draw out a simple process so long and
act like it has to be that way to be good. I also have a background of
measuring things VERY accurately, I’m a pharmacist, and this person is
nuts. I have this machine, it includes a coffee measuring device, use it
instead of the unnecessary scale. Tamp once. Avoid running the water out
first, the machine doesn’t give the ok to brew until the water is hot. You
can make a good cup in 2 min. or less. Get a life woman.
i have one of those. it works pretty good.
What kind of grinder are you using in this video?
Wow, beautiful creme! and even shots!! Its great to see a video with such
precision on my favourite machine.
Like pizza, you can buy Hot-N-Ready from Little Caesars without waiting.
But I prefer waiting my fresh made pizza in Pizza hat. I am not
pharmacist. But I still need learn chemistry before I got my MD degree.
Let’s enjoy espresso.
I just got one of these machines for hella cheap. I was disappointed in the
lack of crema. However I think I might check out the La Pavoni grinder your
using. Nice video 🙂
@vermouth07 I use La Pavoni grinder. Not the best one but ok for daily use.
: )
I don’t want argue with anybody. I used to warm up my cups before using so
the espresso I extract won’t cold so fast (Temperature change means lost
some flavor). This machine doesn’t have top heat plate as other higher
level metal one. That’s why I use the first hot water to warm up my cup.
i just bought one and this helps! thanks.!
@MrKimprice Fresh ground and fine enough ground coffee can give you more
crema. I ever used Lavazza and illy fine ground coffees but not get much
creme either. I will suggest save money and buy a good burr grinder. So you
can adjust the machine and get fine enough ground coffee that fit your
machine. 🙂
I have the same machine. But the red light in mine turns off and when it
starts pouring it turns on again (even when I let it heat for a while prior
to pouring). Does this happen to you?
@vermouth07 Hi there, I use “La Pavoni zip” grinder. It is is a commercial
grinder. You can find discussion and information by google “La Pavoni zip
coffeegeek” By the way “Mazzer Super Jolly” is another popular grinder. 🙂
