Seattle Coffee Gear says:

Then I’d stick with the GB/5, FB/80 or into the NS Appia machines —
consistent, standard, not much to mess around with and make great shots.
FB/80 if the looks are the thing. We don’t have a Swift grinder on hand to
do a video on it but unless you have a very well trained staff, it is more
trouble than it is worth. I’ve seen it in action and you have to take great
care not to mess it up. If you get a grinder that has dosing function and
can train on tamp pressure, that’s a better choice IMHO.

Seattle Coffee Gear says:

@coffeefusion They are a popular option for restaurants and hotels mostly –
Kat

Seattle Coffee Gear says:

@TheNatchers I hear ya!!! I am agitating for a demo in our store 😀 😀 😀 –
Kat

Seattle Coffee Gear says:

I haven’t played with the Aurelia II yet, so I don’t know how it
practically compares. NS developed that model in order to provide more
functionality for the niche market of specialty coffee, but if you don’t
plan on playing with temperature, then their machines in general work great
and produce consistent temperatures, etc. What is your budget? If you can
give me some idea of what you can spend, I can provide you with a few
options to consider. – Kat

DoberFrann says:

I am using a Victoria Arduino Adonis which is based on the Aurelia. I love
those steamer controllers!!

iasonas8 says:

@SeattleCoffeeGear for next year we have a different brand. And is not
stable unfortunatelly. Marzocco was before Simonelli, which was more
consistent but passed that also. Money talk…..

Seattle Coffee Gear says:

Great to hear! They actually have a newer version available, the Aurelia 2,
but we haven’t been able to film/demo it yet. – Kat

Seattle Coffee Gear says:

@iasonas8 That *is* interesting! A lever Cimbali from the 70’s was the
first machine I ever worked on 🙂 Oh, nostalgia – Kat

Seattle Coffee Gear says:

@unlokia Thank you!! 🙂 – Kat

iasonas8 says:

@SeattleCoffeeGear Cimballi…

Seattle Coffee Gear says:

Hahahaha; always trying to get a little face time 😉 – Kat

Victor Morales says:

thanks for the reply Kat, what would you recommend for a new coffee shop
that wants to serve top notch and consistent shots.? comparing with the new
aurelia 2 or any other high quality machine? since the new aurelia has a
double boiler does that make them very similar? am i at this point just
choosing a brand?

Seattle Coffee Gear says:

Hmmmmm……I’d first figure out what’s up with it, and also what kind of
water treatment, care and maintenance they had with it. – Kat

MrJhomrich says:

thanks for posting videos of these machines, especially for me looking to
opening a coffee shop, these have really helped me in making a decision on
the machine that is best for me

Victor Morales says:

no, i am not going to be playing around with temps, and i dont need an auto
steam function. im ready to invest what is necessary in order to keep up
with high volume while still keeping the quality. looks are a plus since i
am focusing on interior as well. thats why i have been looking a lot at the
FB80. could you please do a review on the la marzocco swift grinder? i am
almost sold on it since i dont need to worry about consistent dosing and
tamping.

Victor Morales says:

ok thanks for the help, how much extra is it to get a fb80 two group custom
painted in white? and how long would it take?

Seattle Coffee Gear says:

@iasonas8 Interesting! Who is the next manufacturer up to the table? – Kat

Seattle Coffee Gear says:

That’s some serious coffee making business! 😀 – Kat

deborahjhhan says:

I have the same espresso machine plus the grinder you have in the video. I
am having a little trouble with my espresso shots though. My grinder
setting is at 1 and I tamp down pretty hard. But my shots come out way too
fast and the water flow is extremely strong. The shots barely have crema
and are done extracting around 10 seconds. I don’t know what is wrong! Any
suggestions? Thank you.

Seattle Coffee Gear says:

Sounds like it could be a grinder issue – may need a thorough cleaning or
perhaps a new burr set, depending on the age. Crema is indicative of the
coffee you’re using and how recently it was roasted. I’d check the grinder
and the coffee’s age, then go from there 🙂 – Kat

unlokia says:

@SeattleCoffeeGear Well, you do a great job… and it is always
entertaining! 😀

Stefan Sigfinnsson says:

Do you guys know why Nuova Simonelli machines are used in the World barista
competition(I think they don’t use other brands) ?

Seattle Coffee Gear says:

I can’t give you quotes/estimates via YouTube, sorry. You can contact us on
our site and our commercial sales and support guys can help you with a
price quote and ETA, etc. – Kat

coffeefusion says:

Would have been interesting to see that auto steamer in action. I guess how
useful it is would depend on how easily you can ledge a jug with it. If you
could get consistent milk using it it, it would be interesting!

Seattle Coffee Gear says:

@DoberFrann Great to hear!! Yeah, they’re awesome 🙂 – Kat

Tom Janz says:

So I found a guy locally selling a 3 group first-gen Aurelia. It’s way more
then what I need but the price is AMAZING. The only down side is it appears
it has been dropped, so it may need some work. Is it worth buying, fixing
up and perhaps just flipping it so I can buy a nice home espresso machine?

Seattle Coffee Gear says:

Yay!!! I can’t wait until we can go and do one on the new Aurelia II 🙂
Glad you enjoyed the video! – Kat

Seattle Coffee Gear says:

@unlokia Thank you!! We try to make it fun and sometimes we succeed 😉 – Kat
