Jonathon Sciola says:

Great summary of home machines. I find heat exchange is unreliable and
challenging for the amateur. Two boilers (dedicated to espresso and
dedicated to steam) is safer. ο»Ώ

Seattle Coffee Gear says:

@ericsummey95 If we make it to 1000 videos, I’ll be in that one πŸ˜‰ – Kat

Seattle Coffee Gear says:

Thanks! Our Product Manager has actually just added Elektra to our research
list. -Kaylie

Lewys Brown says:

I second @ericsummey95 πŸ˜€ do you have to temperature surf on heat
exchangers? πŸ˜€

peanutking242 says:

@lewys258 flushing is usually needed for HX machines as they usually run hot

Higgins2001 says:

@SeattleCoffeeGear 333 is a nice round number, as well…. πŸ˜›

Shahid Iqbal says:

Me too, the Cellini looks great

Seattle Coffee Gear says:

@joeldamianicigan We’re looking at getting a test machine by early Aug
(fingers crossed) to play more with it than we have at the product shows.
Can’t wait! – Kat

Seattle Coffee Gear says:

@SkylineToTheSeaAndMe Hx machines have two separate water delivery systems
and dual pumps so you can brew/steam simultaneously; you cannot do that
with a single boiler. We don’t have a combo super/semi auto machine. They
don’t exist. – Kat

Seattle Coffee Gear says:

@peanutking242 More along the lines of they have been sitting for a long
time cycling — on E61’s specifically. Then a flush will pull cool water
through the Hx, heat it and you’re ready to go. – Kat

Seattle Coffee Gear says:

@joeldamianicigan Yeah, from the limited amount of time I played with it,
it seems pretty cool, but haven’t put it through its paces and it was a
prototype model, not production. Looking forward to testing the real thing
later this summer! – Kat

Seattle Coffee Gear says:

@YoungJim409 Well, that’s great to hear! I try to shoot with limited
editing in mind, or plan the shots for ease in slice/dice later, so thanks
for the feedback that you don’t notice it — probably the best compliment
for editing, right? πŸ™‚ – Kat

thePowerPlant says:

Glad you gals mentioned the prices this time around.

joeldamianicigan says:

The Breville BES900XL looks like a nice machine although it’s preinfusion
process seems kinda complex. From the YouTube videos, I seem to prefer the
passive preinfusion of the other less complicated Rocket machines.

Seattle Coffee Gear says:

@etherealrhythm Are you stalking me?!?!? πŸ˜‰ – Kat

Seattle Coffee Gear says:

Hahahaha — I love love handles, though, but prefer the Cellini … what
does that say about me?!?!?! πŸ˜‰ – Kat

SkylineToTheSeaAndMe says:

What is a heat exchange machine? or rather what is the difference between a
machine with a heat exchanger and one without? Looking for a
semi-automatic. Also how much is the last one that is both semi and
superautomatic? Thanks, -John

Eric Summey says:

@fastfolky OMG That’s what I do! It bothers me not knowing though lol.

joeldamianicigan says:

Curious to hear what you think of the new Breville BES900XL when it hit the
US Market. Supposed to compete with the likes of the Rockets and Giottos…

Seattle Coffee Gear says:

@YoungJim409 You can catch body parts here and there, but I try to keep it
in check (I edit these videos, too, you know…) πŸ˜‰ – Kat

etherealrhythm says:

@SeattleCoffeeGear Haha, not at all. Well, maybe just a little bit. OK, no,
that was a joke. Seriously? It took me all of about two minutes to find a
picture of you after I first found this glorious channel and began to step
up my coffee education. I saw a few comments about how you don’t make
appearances in videos and just Googled something like ‘seattle coffee gear
kat’. I think I ended up on the website? Anyway, there was a quasi-picture
of you in the reflection of some stainless steel gizmo?

fastfolky says:

@ericsummey95 it turned into a hobby on the side while watching…trying to
spot what Kat looks like. I think I saw some pretty long hair once, I also
think she is a brunette. For some reason not seeing the person that is
talking creates this strange obsession of looking in reflections of shiny
machines to catch a glips of her but when i think of it I really don’t care
what she looks like..it’s just the fact that I don’t know that started it.
I’m in a happy marriage Kat, so no worries! πŸ™‚

etherealrhythm says:

@ericsummey95 I know what she looks like! Muahaha.

Rony Sheer says:

Once again, great video. Is there a reason you guys don’t carry Elektra
machines?

Shahid Iqbal says:

With the 2 rocket’s make your choice depending on if you like love handles
or not πŸ˜‰

Eric Summey says:

@etherealrhythm *GASP* Not fair! LOL

Seattle Coffee Gear says:

@etherealrhythm I know, I’m just teasing. I have been online since the
early ’90’s and there is a lot of evidence of that! I am always surprised
more folks who want to see what I look like don’t search around because
there are various and sundry photos out there, especially from my wayward
youth! :O – Kat

Eric Summey says:

Kat, I know you said you won’t appear in any of the videos, but we’ve been
hearing you’re voice for so long but don’t have a clue what you look like.

Seattle Coffee Gear says:

@thePowerPlant We generally don’t because they fluctuate, but these prices
have remained pretty static. – Kat
